From Sub-Human Punching Bag to Control4 Platinum Dealer

3 years ago I saw the writing on the wall.

The primary source of our business was quickly deteriorating.  New home construction was slowing down to a halt.  We were gradually becoming a sub-human punching bag to our builders.  We were asked... 'ahem' - demanded to lower our prices to the point of total ridiculousness - just to keep our contracts in place.  $100 for an alarm pre-wire, no thank you.  Contracts were taken away right in the middle of a construction phase and given to lower bidders.  The good ol' days where business was just rolling through the doors was gone.  Needless to say, we were freaked out at the time!

Now looking back, it's probably the best thing that ever happened to us.

That year I went to CEDIA and got serious about home automation.  We had been doing a decent amount of home automation with other vendors but hadn't been very consistent with it.  We couldn't really, we were so stinkin' busy trying to keep up with all the builder work and new home construction!

I remember at CEDIA, I attended a Control4 training.  I had been conducting research for quite a while and knew Control4 was up to some really good things.  After the training, we had a long trip home. (We rode our motorcycles from Sacramento, California to Denver, Colorado - and back again).

One gets plenty of time to think when riding a motorcycle.  That's one of the things I love about riding!  On the way back I began to feel confident Control4 was the manufacturer we should partner with.  We decided to stop off in Salt Lake City on the way back to take a tour of their main headquarters.  The lovely Miss Quyen Lindenlaub was kind enough to give us a personal tour when we arrived!  I laugh now because now she's my #1 homie at Control4... Ok, you too Mike!  Here's a funny pic I took of you guys:

Ahahahaha Lookin' good you two!

After a lot of research, the training, and a first hand tour of their headquarters, I knew Control4 was going to be a perfect fit for our business.  With iPads, smart phones and the world of apps gaining more momentum, I knew this was going to be the perfect time to jump in with both feet into home automation.

I'm proud to say that since then, we have achieved Control4's highest honor - Platinum Dealer Status!

We love what we do here!

We are very unique in the fact that we not only provide the audio/video integration, speakers, tv's, whole house audio etc...  But we are also experts in the field of burglar alarms, 24 hour monitoring, structured wiring, networking, surveillance cameras, high voltage, central vacuum, access control, lighting control, climate control and more!  Most integrators only specialize in a couple of these areas.  We're fortunate enough to have over 30 years experience enabling us to offer a "one stop shop" experience to our clients, aaaaaand... not to mention, some of the finest employees in all the land!!
